Sierra Hellemans is the five year old hula hooping diva. It’s embarrassing to be worse than a five year old at anything, so were all going to have to break out our hoops, oil up our hips and put these tips into action so we can be the next Sierra Hellemans.
Tip 1: Get a Hula Hoop to Suit Your Size
Sierra Hellemans gets away with using a child sized hula hoop because she’s five. If you’re not five, get a big hoop to go round that big gut of yours. Stand the hula hoop on it’s end. If it goes above your belly button, it’s the right size.
Tip 2: Don’t Move Your Hips in a Circle
It stands to reason that if the hoop is going in a circle, your hips should go in a circle as well. IT doesn’t work like that. Watch Sierra Hellemans. Sierra has the knack. She’s moving her hips from side to side. Alternatively, you could move your hips backwards and forwards. It’s easier to do this if you put one foot in front of the other rather than next to each other.
Tip 3: Practice
There’s only really one way to get as good as Sierra Hellemans and that’s to practice and practice. Put in the hours and your sure to be the next Sierra Hellemans.
